STORY:

American artist Donna McGee cycles over the Connecticut River on the Norotuck Rail Trail on her way to her studio each day, where she combines her love for drawing with throwing and glazing ceramics.

After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Donna’s one goal was to continue to paint and draw, which led her to travel, study and hone her skills at the Jacob Kramer Centre for the Arts in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.

Combining functional pottery with a surface that channels a passion for historical uses of patterns in nature, along with colour and design, sustains and nurtures Donna’s work.

This collection of Rook Plates demonstrates Donna’s interest in pattern, nature and texture. The collection is full of life; the birds’ squawks and cries are almost audible as they come home to roost.
