THE STORY

These charming Fabric Folk Kits are part of an ongoing collaboration between The Shop Floor Project and paper-cut artist Amanda White. Celebrating important female figures throughout history the collection includes: Queen Elizabeth I, Mary Anning the fossil hunter, writers Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters Anne, Charlotte and Emily.

Amanda White’s celebrated collages of portraits and historical houses bring together her love of old buildings and literature. Trained as a theatre designer, each paper cut feels like a set design or sketch for a costume, each one drawing you into the scene and finding more, as you take in all the detail.
