THE STORY

A theme running through The Shop Floor Project's Christmas collections this year is the Festive Table and this collection of Jelly Mould candle holders commissioned from Amelia Tuttiett are the perfect adornment.

Beginning as wonderful drawings, the designs are inspired by tiered Regency desserts of moulded jellies, ices, sugar work and blancmange. These ceramic versions delight in the wobbliness of their edible counterparts. Utilising her extensive collection of glazes, Amelia mixes a palette of pastels to render custards, sponge fingers and whipped cream in ceramic form.

Inspired by the sumptuous and ornate confections and puddings that adorned Regency tables, Amelia Tuttiett has worked her way through a table full of designs to create these sugar paste sculptures all inspired by the 18th century illustrated dessert cookbooks.

Amelia Tuttiett is a ceramic artist who lives and works in a studio on her vineyard in the South Downs, Hampshire.
