Make your own Fabric House hanging decoration!

What could be more fun than stitching and stuffing these Fabric House Kits, featuring the collages of famous writers’ houses by renowned folk artist Amanda White? Easy to hang on a tree, they look equally good sitting along a shelf. Again, we encourage some personal embellishments, perhaps an appliquéd wreath on a door or some embroidered flowers climbing up the wall?

- A printed fabric panel
- Two sewing needles
- Thread and pins
- Length of ribbon for hanging

You will also require scissors (not included)

PLEASE NOTE: This product is not a toy. It is designed as an adult craft project, and requires basic sewing skills. The kit contains sharp objects (pins and needles).

THE STORY

These charming Fabric House Kits are part of an ongoing collaboration between The Shop Floor Project and renowned folk-artist and paper-cut expert Amanda White. The collection includes houses that once belonged to John Keats, Beatrix Potter, Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters plus the original building that inspired Charles Dickens’s Old Curiosity Shop.

Amanda White uses a vast collection of old magazines to create her celebrated collages of portraits and historical houses. Originally trained as a theatre designer, each paper-cut collage feels like a set design, drawing you into the scene and finding more detail as you look closer.
