Threads visualise thoughts...

The Shop Floor Project has curated a beautiful box of treasures for you to begin your own exploration of embroidery stitches and techniques.

 

CONTENTS

 

1 x Gold cable thread, reminiscent of Elizabethan embroidery;

1 x Japanese copper thread

1 x Blue ribbon that can be threaded through a needle;

1 x Spool of gold facets which can be appliquéd into various patterns;

1 x Bag of tiny gold paillettes sequins

I x Bag of nuggets of natural shell sequins in soft colours.

2 x Paper Raffia which can be appliquéd or gathered into ruffles, looking remarkably like silk-work.

5 x Silk Serica threads 

5 x  Silk Mori Milkpaint skeins which can be used as a single thread or separated into six for finer stitches. (Milkpaint refers to a common type of paint used in the early 19th century and these threads are created in one-of-a-kind colours that match the historical Milkpaint palette.)

2 x Embroidery needles

1 x Embroiderer's hoop

1 x Canvas work bag

1 x Small pieces of Japanese Cotton to start experimenting with stitches
